Dear fellow HBSers,

I want to welcome you to the Harvard Business School Club of Washington, D.C.  As one of the largest HBS Chapters worldwide, our club is the focal point of the HBS community in the DC Metro Area. We have a highly diversified group of members, some of whom are located as far away as Richmond, VA, and Baltimore, MD.  We offer career-orientation to recent graduates starting their careers in DC, to Fortune100 CEO’s, to those in the highest levels of government, and to military officials.  Our alumni work in a wide variety of industries which include but are not limited to diplomacy, government, military, the non-profit sector, defense, banking, finance, retail, venture capital, fintech, consulting, health care, infra-structure, and real estate.

This Club is indeed a powerhouse platform to support, connect, and promote the HBS alumni, and I am so proud to be actively involved with such a wonderful organization.

“Educating leaders who make a difference in the world” is our school mission, and we work toward that end.   For the past eight years, the Club has implemented an important scholarship program to support non-profit leaders based in the DC Metro Area. Every year, the Club awards two full scholarships to qualified candidates to attend an Executive Education Program specifically designed to prepare leaders who work in the non-profit sector to change and improve lives around the world.

Having completed my two-year term as CEO and President of the Club (2014-2016), and after serving for the past seven months as the Chairman of the Board, I am honored to return to the helm of our Club in order to help the organization keep its growth trajectory and to expand its role in supporting the HBS Community in the DC Metro Area.

I am very excited to be a part of the executive leadership team once again. We have ambitious plans ahead of us which include special focused events, networking gatherings, exclusive access to unique venues, and our Third Annual HBS Gala Dinner.

If you are not yet a member or haven’t attended one of our events, I welcome you to join the club and become a part of this enriching community.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or suggestions.

I am most grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in person at one of our upcoming events.

Sincerely yours,

Antonio Alves
